Words – hope temperature goes up

  2. Cyril Malka

Thank you for your thank you.

BlackFate is on he european Turalyon server and is a Horde (Blood Elf).

And he is making a lot of gold too by using some of this principles in fact. I often just give things away on the trade channel.

People tend then to remember the name.

    Always good for business

  3. Paindealer

Im am the level 80 Death Knight in question and I cant wait to get rolling on this. I already do some of this in WOW, I boost in dungeons for free and give things away for free, even gold!!(But I dont to beggers). You are absolutly right, I have made more than I have given.

Thanks again for your help and I look forward to future correspondants.

  4. BlackScorpyo

    Hey Paindealer,

In fact, I have always helped people and mostly for free (it has happened, that I took money though). Sometimes, I have even helped people and given them gold afterwards.

But correct, I always report beggars as spam, never give them anything and put them on my ignorelist (and VanasKoS hatelist).

Funny enough, even though I have given a lot, I have only been a bit short on money once, when I had to buy epic mount for Scorpyo when she got lvl 60. I missed 200 gold (that my other chars send her, but then they were nomoney for a day or 2), but then I had bought a Bear in Dalaran, a banktab for the guild and stuff, so… well… It was a bit short

Otherwise, i have never been short for money even though I have given a lot away.

Looking forward to meet you at Blade’s Edge.

  5. Henrik Blunck

    Congrats. :-)

Very fine results. That is absolutely excellent. Apparently reviews are well liked by Google.

    Thanks for the tip. :-)

  6. Jørgen Carlsen

Interesting – this is a way to learn how to do…

  7. Paindealer

    Hi BlackScorpyo,

I am the same, I never seem short of gold so im happy to give what I can, gave 100 gold to a new guild member today. He couldnt believe his luck and hasnt stopped thanking me. I told him the way I know of to level quick and to make money quick, I think i have a fan for life. I must admit though im still saving for my epic mount and would have it by now if it wasnt for that but im not complaining. A happy guild is a good guild I say.

As for beggers, well I dont add them to my ignore list. Only very rude people get that treatment and so far I have met only 1, which in a MMORPG is a miracle!. I do have Macro’s for beggers and power levelers / gold sellers that is too the point and most people dont reply after that. :) (politely put of course)
I just couldnt beg for money myself, seems somehow wrong.

Looking forward to meeting you too BlackScorpyo. I like to meet nice people :)

    Speak to you soon,

    Paindealer

msg to the horde – BETTER GRIT YOUR TEETH, HEAR COMES THE PAIN!!!

  8. Paindealer

Read through your lesson 1, found it very informative. I have looked at the places suggested and have some ideas as to a direction I want to take but am a little hesitant to start the blog. I dont want to rush into it and get it wrong – some words of wisdom perhaps and some reasurch needed before I commit though im excited about it and looking forward too it. In the next few days after looking into it a bit deeper and talked to you I shall take th plunge. I have looked at your husband’s site and it has given me food for thought (even thought my French is almost no existant) it did show me how easy it can be.
    Q) are there any copyright issues I should be aware of.

I have alot of other questions but they can wait as I think they will be answer as I work on the blog.

    Speak to you soon

    PainDealer

  9. Britt Malka

    Hi Christie

Comments should be working now, and nobody but you and me will see what you write.

  10. Paindealer

In the case of having to earn a certain amount, does that amount build with time or is it a threshold you have to get to to get paid?

  11. Britt Malka

Normally, and I can’t think of exceptions right now, it’s a threshold you have to reach every time.

With Google AdSense it’s $100. First time, it might take a few months to reach that. Then normally the pattern is that it takes two months the next time and after that you’ll get payed almost every month.

  12. Paindealer

I have Adsense, blockbusters and I am waiting for approval from another Ad, cant rememeber the name off the top of my head. I shall be interested to see the results in the coming months.

  13. Paindealer

My blog is up a running
However i cant seem to find it if i search google. Have i chosen the wrong keywords? Maybe i need to start again, i hope not. Also what text appears beneath the found searchs. Is this something enetered seperatly or is it some part of the blog?

  14. Britt Malka

 Well, if you could find your blog in Google that fast, you should be teaching me and not the contrary

I should have told you. I’m sorry. My mistake. I will normally take days, sometimes even weeks, before a site or a blog can be found in Google.

Your site hasn’t been indexed yet, it seems (search for site:http://moviesonlinereview.blogspot.com/) – so you have to be patient a few more days.

Now there are things you can do about that, and I’ll write a blogpost on that subject.

  15. Paindealer

    Hi Britt
I have the book in question but i have to admit that i now feel a little bogged under by the scale of the work involved. Little steps i guess. I am working my way through it slowly and it throws up some interesting things not all of which i understand. This is going to take some time. I shall continue to write in by blog daily and hopefully address the issues that the book raises.

  16. Paindealer

Hi have visited the site for the template but am having trouble downloading the template. Every time I try it asks me to login or says the page is not available. I have tried other templates and they all say the same which is frustrating. Any advice, is the site broken or under maintenance?

  17. Britt Malka

    Hi Christie

I’m all in for baby steps, but since you went ahead of me, I felt I had to give you some more info

If you don’t use the template, I found, then you might be better off waiting a little longer with the AdSense ads.

I had a little bit of trouble downloading the template too, but after a few tries, I got it.

You can get it at: http://brittmalka.com/foxi/ads-theme-blogger.zip

Take you time, continue to write, and report back when you are ready to learn more.

  18. Paindealer

The template is fantastic, I need to figure out how to manipulate it properly & add the affilliates i have (Blockbusters & MoviesNow).

I will be purchasing a domain name once i have a decent archive of reviews. Would you recommend this or should I wait?

  19. Paindealer

I think it would be wise of me to get a good sized archive before adding to google as i dont want people put off by the lack of content, your thoughts?
I would like to add del.ico.us etc though.

  20. Paindealer

    Hi Britt,
Thats great, when I have done some of the things mentioned in your other lessons and have those ‘under my belt’ ill index with google

  21. Britt Malka

Do that. I find it a little strange that you still not are indexed automatically in google, but well, it gives you time to write more :)

  22. Britt Malka

I think you should go for Amazon, too. It would be obvious to put in a small picture of the movie, clickable, and leading directly to Amazon. Now – Amazon.com or uk? That’s up to you. I don’t know if somebody clicks through to uk and buys at .com will bring you money. I have no idea.

  23. Britt Malka

You can do that. You have enough posts for both :)

  24. Britt Malka

Wait a bit – because with a domaine you also have to buy webhosting. This will cost about $100 for a year or two.

When you go ahead, I can recomend Dreamhost.com – you get a free domain, when you host with them. We have been satisfied with them.

Use the promo code MALKA to get $50 off the price.

But I think you should perhaps another month.

  25. Paindealer

ok will do, i did think it would be better to wait.

  26. Paindealer

I shall look into it. Not sure how to manipulate the template with pictures but i will concentrate on that a little more.

  27. Paindealer

i have looked at compfight and it looks like a good site. not sure how to link the picture or do u just write the site u got it from and that is sufficient?

  28. Britt Malka

Mostly, I just write in the end of my blogpost: “photo credit: xxx” – sometimes I put on a link.

If you go to the photographer’s site in Flickr, you can highlight the URL in the Addresse bar in the browser.

Then highlight his name in Blogger, and choose the Link too. Put in the link you copied, and you’re done.

  29. Britt Malka

What I meant was pictures inside the blog posts, not in the template.

You do that when you write in Blogger, you can click on Image or Add Image and upload or link to an image.

  30. Paindealer

Ok ill do that asap, pictures are a must me thinks and have been commented on by people that have seen the blog.

  31. Paindealer

ok, tomorrow i will get that sorted out.

  32. Paindealer

I have added the cover art which I copied from IMDB, I am a little worried about copyright law’s with this as there is no-one to link too. Do i credt IMDB? Also would it be possible to add a trailer to the films?
I have looked on Flickr but not found what I was after :(

  33. Paindealer

I have indexed with google so im sure it wont be long before i appear there.

  34. Paindealer

Following on from my last post I have registered with Amazon and am now replacing the cover Art with their cover art and links to their site. As for the insertion of the HTML script, does it matter where in the script it is inserted? I have put it under the script of the picture. As I cant click the picture to test it as this would break the terms of service I have no way of knowing if it has worked? any thoughts?

  35. Paindealer

Hmm i have been playing with the HTML a little and im not sure what im doing, im sure its easyer than it looks but it looks rather complicated and i have only cut and paste the links amazon has provided but i cant seem to get it to work.
I will remove the IMDB art once i have finished writing this and wait your instruction as I dont want to mess the whole thing up. I can get the picture on there ok but cant quite seem to figure out how that links to their site using their code.

  36. Britt Malka

I wasn’t aware that you couldn’t click on their picture to test. Are you sure?

The link is not working. It’s only leading to the picture itself, not to Amazon.

So you are a registered affiliate at Amazon?

You log into your associated account, and chose the tab called Links and something.

Search for your product there. I did “wii” for this post:

    http://videowiigames.blogspot.com/

You can personalize the look of the link, do that and copy the code.

    It starts with <iframe…

Put all of this code inside your blogpost, when you are in HTML mode, i.e. you have clicked on the tab HTML in Blogger.

I tried to make a small movie, but the program broke down. If you have problems with this, I’ll try again Sunday.

Good luck, and you are doing a very nice work here

  37. Paindealer

something rather worrying has just occured, my site has been put under review for possible terms of service violation which is worrying. i have followed instructions to remove the warning but will have to wait a day or to. Reading the instructions i face deletion so for the until normal service is ressumed on not going to touch it. Have u had this? Im worried.

  38. Britt Malka

We’ve had it on a blog, yes. They removed it after a day or two, but it’s annoying and it resulted in our buying a domaine for the blog instead of using blogger.

What did you do wrong? Was it the photos from IMDB that you had already removed?

  39. Britt Malka

If you can copy everything you have written, just in case, it will be a good idea, I think.

  40. Paindealer

I have copied everything , just as i finished I checked it again and its back to normal (breaths a sigh of relief). I think it was my deleting of pictures as i was doing it quite quick which im assuming was counted as spam as the pages was reloaded alot and quickly.

  41. Paindealer

I am a registered affiliate, I can get the picture but as you say it just leads to a picture of itself. Does the code have to be in a particular place on the HTML? i have been playing with it for a quite a while now and can figure it out

On a similar note can u rename the jpg to soemthing recogniseable for saving instead of a string of nonsensical characters? will this affect the code and its link too it (once I have it working that is)

  42. Paindealer

hmm, been playing with the amazon pictures all morning but cant get it to work. The closest I have got is the picture (which only shows itself when clicked) and when in edit mode (but not when viewing the page) a small box that can be clicked and goes to the amazon site.
I have the picture saved on my pc and upload it , as you do, to add it to the blog. Then I add the HTML code as instructed on the amazon site (which is the small box). How do the two come together?

  43. Paindealer

I have sent u a small vid of a typical attempt to add the link

  44. Paindealer

Following on from your Email, I am ready to get a domain of my own whenever you are  . As you said ill have a talk with you first about it.

  45. Abraham

    Hello,

We noticed you have written articles for others and do videos, etc for promotional products. What kind of services do you offer? How much do you charge for your services monthly, hourly, weekly, etc.

    Thank You,

    Abraham

  46. Britt Malka

    Hi Abraham

    Thanks for your comment.

Yes, it’s true that I also write articles for others, in Danish and in English, and my husband even translates some of them into French. I write about poker, backgammon, world of warcraft, cats, iPhone, and many other subjects.

As for the videoes, we have only done those for our own purposes. But they really have a great impact.

I will contact you directly by email to learn more about what services you are looking for precisely.

    Britt

  47. Stefan Zeulner

    My four words are
    “Jesus died for me”
He can change the world into a better place and he has just begun.

  48. Britt Malka

Good for you, Stefan. We don’t exactly agree, but it’s good to find a purpose in life.

  49. Jeff Bode

    Hey Britt

To me the main goal of my blog is to build my list, there are several advantages to list building that the other methods of income don’t provide – the potential for continual growth of income is where list building wins for me.

Great blog I look forward to reading more.

  50. Sydney

I can really identify with you, every day I say “I wish it were Friday.”

  51. Mike

Yeah, welcome to the world Naomi!

And gratz on becoming a granma Britt

  52. Henrik Blunck

    Congratz.

    –flammer–
Britt had the age of grandmotherhood for some years, but now it has been fulfilled!
    –/flammer–

Hvor er det dog dejligt når børnene begynder at blive forældre. Så er det Danni vi mangler at gratulere… ;-)

  53. Britt Malka

    Thanks for your comment, Jeff

I combine it, I must confess. Okay, on this blog, I have no ads, but on my other I have, and I send my list to the blogs or homepages from time to time, and it always gives a good result. And then of course, I also sell affiliate products and my own products, as well as just give information :)

  54. Pals

Welcome little Naomi and congrats on becoming a Grandma. I’m sure you will fill the roll beautifully.

Love Pals (Your favorite dwarf) I hope!

  55. Pals

    Erm! Role not roll hehe.

  56. Britt Malka

Thanks, Pals, and yes, surely you are my favourite dwarf :)

    Too much WoW? :D

  57. Ravi Jayagopal

    Britt,

This is Ravi here – developer of Digital Access Pass.

Just wanted to drop by and thank you for your kind words.

Hey, wait a minute… did you just call me crazy? LOL :-)

    - Ravi Jayagopal

  58. Allen

I know what you mean about point 1 & 2 but not entirely sure I agree… mmmm I see the ethical dilemma but then scarcity and time insentives work.

Ok – in future I think I’ll honour all my time sensitive or price statements but… I just have to make the time (or find the script to action them!)

  59. Thom Lancaster

It’s good to see an opinion on ‘copy and paste’ that I agree with. Too many people think it’s okay to just use the results of someone else’s time and effort without permission or acknowledgement.

I’d also shy away from just rewriting articles, particularly internet ones. Too often, the information is not accurate, and taking innacurate information and then changing it can add even more inaccuracies into the new article. Look for offline information, such as that from magazines or newspapers, as it’s often so more closely verified and more in-depth than the information that you’ll find on the Internet.

  60. Britt Malka

I’m glad you agree, and thank you for adding that important last part.

Reasently, I read a “5 tips for beginners to World of Warcraft”, and they contained pure nonsense. It’s very important to do more research that just what’s in a single article, maybe even off-line, if you don’t have the knowledge yourself.

As for magazines and newspapers as reliable source, well, neither in France, nor in Denmark, they can be considered reliable, I’m afraid. Research is a foreign word, many don’t even know. And many are not even able to read and understand things like a press release. Pity and shame.

  61. Henrik Blunck

    Hi Britt

Thanks for the information. I was happy to receive the EzineArticles pen a few weeks ago as it was nice to hold.

But I’ll have to keep my eyes open for the Montblanc pen – and maybe I’ll even use the more comfortable option of ordering one online.

Thanks for your review of this pen.

  62. Jørgen Carlsen

Good to read about “the fundamentals”. I always liked to use a fountain pen, but… I have no ink to put in my Harley Davidson Pen. And my fathers Mont Blanc has to be repaired to function again.
Until… I use my rotring Art Pen.

  63. Henrik Blunck

I think it’s a good idea that you share this because it should be quite natural for an article database to SUPPORT writers when they have an issue.

If they want more articles, everything depends upon how they treat existing writers.

    So keep it comin’… :-)

  64. Britt Malka

Yeah, I haven’t been as lucky. I’ve never received an EzineArticles pen. :???:
