Happy Child Guide | Parent Learning Club

When my first child was born, a whole new number of questions were raised in my mind. While I had no problems breast feeding him, I wanted to know everything about normal child development stages so I could boast to my friends and family whenever my son performed better than average, LOL. Don't we all have the most wonderful baby in the world?
Nah, seriously! There are just so much to learn. Especially when the baby starts to grow up and finds out that he has a will of his own.
I will always remember the day that I read in a book about children trying to take control of their parents by demanding a specific chair. The solution, of course, was not to give into such behaviour but to firmly say "no" to little Peter, who wanted to sit on your chair.
A few minutes after I've read that, my son, Danni, who was three years old at that moment, looked me firmly in the eyes and said: "this is MY chair".
And I laughed.
He certainly hadn't counted on that reaction from me, so he gave up and sat down on his own chair.
Anyway, books are good. Books are helpful. Especially when nobody else is around or has the answer.
It turned out that my son, the eldest of my two children, had ADHD. A nightmare for every parent! He was just doing things, all the time. Throwing my things on the floor, digging in the flower pots, putting food all over the kitchen floor...
"The Happy Child Guide" has a lot of guidance for parents to ADHD children. I wish I had that book back when my son was little!
Facts About "The Happy Child Guide" From "Parent Learning Club"
Okay, let's get it over. This is something measurable, but good to know about.
First of all, "The Happy Child Guide" is delivered in eBook format. This means a PDF-file you can open with a free programme like Adobe Reader.
You can download it directly after your purchase.
There are 179 pages, so you'll probably want to print it out or upload it to your Kindle, if you're lucky enough to own such a device.
Before I got my Kindle, I always printed eBooks out with two pages on each page to save both paper and ink. Savvy, eh?
Even though there are many pages, they are easy to read and really interesting.
The book are directly aimed at children from the age of newborn to 11. For older children you have to adapt the exercises to their age.
After I received my copy of the book, I had a few questions, and the staff at the "Parent Learning Club" were very fast to respond and help.
What Does "The Happy Child Guide" Contain
You'll learn about the two most important ways you can influence your child: through building healthy skills and habits. Both sections are filled with examples and exercises which makes it easy to implement the theory and obtain real life results.
You'll learn about such different (or are they?) things as sugar and TV and how to deal with your child when he craves either or both of them. You learn about how to incorporate healthy bed times and food habits.
All the time the author guides you through with love and empathy. There are no brutal punishments in this book. Maybe you're asking right now, what is wrong with punishment? Haven't we all been punished from time to time, some more than others?
Probably, yes, but it has been proved that although punishment may bring the desired result on a short term basis, it doesn't give results over a long term basis. Rewards are much more ... rewarding, in fact.
You learn how to grow happy and healthy children, while you yourself are happy as well. Because no normal parent likes to hit their child. Often, when we do such things, it's out of frustration, and because we don't know how else to behave.
Luckily, you can learn proper reactions to everyday problems like tantrum, spilled milk, sibling rivaly, and others.
You get some handy work sheets to print out. Believe me, you'll want to use those more than once, so print them out and put them on the refrigerator door.
Bonus Included
I just loved the bonus! It's title is: "The 7 Alternatives To Punishment", so if you feel that one of the methods are not really apt for you, you can pick one of the others.
Should you get this book?
I cannot answer that question for you. I can only tell you that I liked it very much, but that could be due to the fact that I agree with their point of view and way of bringing up children. They do, however, have a money back guarantee, so if you don't agree with them, or just don't like the book, you can get your money back.
